for its 2025-2026 run!

Join us for another brilliant theatre term where you will learn many new theatrical skills!
At the end of the term, you'll perform your very own show on a theatre stage!

what is deafinitely youth theatre?

Deafinitely Youth Theatre is an exciting opportunity for those aged 14 - 21 years old to take part in drama activities, meet other deaf young people and get involved in theatre.

Founded in 2010, every year the programme is led by a deaf role-model and provides up to 20 young people with the opportunity to learn from professionals and explore a theatre environment.  

For this term, we're inviting you to take part! 

who is it for?

Are you between 14 - 21 years old? Are you deaf, hard of hearing, CODA (child of deaf adult(s)), or BSL/SSE signer? Are you interested in finding out more about theatre and/or hanging out with other young people your age?

what will i do?

In Deafinitely Youth Theatre, you can build up your acting and performing skills with deaf theatre professionals, and then you will make your own show with your group to show your new skills! Things you will learn in Deafinitely Youth Theatre include:

• Explore creative performance techniques such as Visual Vernacular (VV), BSL poetry, text translation, and physical theatre
• Build confidence and skills in performance, storytelling, and improvisation
• Learn from and work with professional deaf theatre-makers and facilitators
• Develop your communication and teamwork skills through collaboration
• Grow your creativity and self-expression through regular workshops 

The show will be performed on a real theatre stage, with your friends and family in the audience, at the end of the term.

when and where is it?

Deafinitely Youth Theatre takes place every other Saturday, excluding Christmas break (27th December 2025), in central London. See below for the list of dates:

travel bursary

A small amount of travel bursaries are available for those that are on low income and can not afford travel costs associated with Deafinitely Youth Theatre.
