This training introduces the role of the Intimacy Director and explores why intimacy practices are an essential part of safe, respectful and empowered creative processes.

Led by Imogen Frances (they/them), Intimacy Director on Deafinitely Theatre’s production Barrier(s), the session will begin with an introduction to what intimacy direction is, what an intimacy director does and when creatives might want to request one on a project.

The training will then move into a practical session, introducing participants to core intimacy tools they can use in rehearsal rooms to advocate for themselves and others, set boundaries and support consent-led creative work.

The workshop is open to deaf creatives and artists, including actors, directors, dancers, movement directors and freelancers. It is particularly aimed at those who want to better understand intimacy practices and how they can be embedded into their own creative work.

Participants will receive a CPD certificate awarding 3 CPD points upon successful completion of the training.
